WHAT IS HIBISCUS?
Hibiscus is a flowering plant that is native to West Africa, East Africa Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
This flower is possibly one that you’ve seen before and maybe even used in tea, which is really common. As it helps with many things such as helping to boost your immune system and help prevent cell damage due to free radicals.
Drinking Hibiscus tea can also reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
This is an amazing plant, not only is it great internally it also works really well externally.
BENEFITS OF HIBISCUS FOR HAIR GROWTH?
So what exactly does hibiscus do for your hair? These are some of the benefits:

DIFFERENT WAYS TO USE HIBISCUS FOR HAIR GROWTH
There are many different ways to use hibiscus for the benefits already mentioned.
For instance you can make a mask with the flower, or you can make a hibiscus infused oil with the flowers.
You can make a rinse to use in your hair or a shampoo to cleanse your hair.
That is what makes this plant so beneficial, because it can be used in so many different ways.

HIBISCUS OIL
This is a great way to use hibiscus in your hair. And pretty easy to make if you don’t want to purchase it. It’s also more cost effective if you decide to make it yourself.
What you need:
- Hibiscus Flower
- Hibiscus Leaves
- Coconut Oil
*If you don’t have access to the leaves you can just use the flowers
You can mash or blend the flowers and the leaves together to make a paste then heat up the oil in a pan on medium to low heat and add the paste when the oil gets hot. Let the oil cool then apply to the scalp and massage in, continue to add to the rest of your hair. Leave in for at least 30 mins then wash as you usually would.
Apply 3 times a week.

HIBISCUS MASK FOR HAIR GROWTH
So there are a few masks that can be used, here are some:
AMLA & HIBISCUS MASK:
- Hibiscus Leaves & Flowers
- Amla Powder
- Water
*If you don’t have access to the leaves you can just use the flowers
Mash or blend the hibiscus flowers & leaves and the amla powder together to form a paste, then add water to get it to a consistency that you like then apply to the hair. Leave for 30-45 mins then wash as you usually would.
Apply 1-2 times a week.
GINGER & HIBISCUS MASK:
- Ginger Juice
- Hibiscus Leaves & Flowers
*If you don’t have access to the leaves you can just use the flowers
Mash or blend the hibiscus flowers & leaves to form a paste, then add the ginger juice. Once the paste is to your liking apply it to the roots and leave it in for 25 mins. Then wash as you usually would.
Apply 1-2 times a week.

- Hibiscus Flowers & Leaves
- Yogurt
Mash or blend the hibiscus flowers & leaves to form a paste, then add yogurt to get it to a consistency that you like then apply to the hair. Leave for an hour then wash as you usually would.
Apply 1-2 times a week.
HIBISCUS & FENUGREEK MASK:
- Hibiscus Leaves
- Fenugreek Seeds
- Buttermilk
Soak the fenugreek seeds overnight. Blend fenugreek seeks with hibiscus leaves until it turns into a paste then add buttermilk and mix. Apply this mixture to the scalp and hair and leave it for an hour. Then wash as you usually would.
Apply 1 time a week.
HIBISCUS & HENNA MASK:
- Hibiscus Flowers & Leaves
- Henna Leaves
- Lemon
Mash or blend the hibiscus flowers & leaves to form a paste, then add lemon juice to get it to a consistency that you like then apply to the scalp. Leave for an hour then wash as you usually would.
Apply 1 time a week.
HIBISCUS & COCONUT MILK MASK:
- Crushed Hibiscus Flowers
- Coconut Milk
- Honey
- Yogurt
- Aloe Vera Gel
Mix all ingredients to form a paste to get it to a thick consistent paste that you like then apply to the scalp. Leave for 30 mins then wash with lukewarm water.
Apply 1 time a week.
HIBISCUS & EGG MASK:
- Crushed Hibiscus Flowers
- Egg Whites
Mix all ingredients to form a paste to get it to a thick consistent paste that you like then apply to your hair. Leave for 20 mins then wash with lukewarm water.
Apply 1 time a week.
HIBISCUS & NEEM LEAVE MASK:
- Neem Leaves
- Hibiscus
- Water
Mix all ingredients to form a paste to get it to a thick consistent paste that you like then apply to the scalp. Leave for 20 mins then wash with lukewarm water.
Apply 2 times a week.
HIBISCUS & ALOE VERA MASK:
- Hibiscus Flowers
- Aloe Vera Gel
Blend all ingredients to form a paste to get it to a paste then apply to the scalp. Leave for 45 mins then wash with lukewarm water.
Apply 3 times a week.
HIBISCUS & ONION MASK:
- Onion
- Hibiscus Leaves
- Water
Blend the onion and strain the juice. Grind the hibiscus leaves with water and strain the juice. Mix both juices together and apply to the scalp and leave in for 15 mins, then wash with lukewarm water.
Apply 3 times a week.
HIBISCUS & CURRY LEAVES MASK:
- Hibiscus Leaves
- Curry Leaves
- Coconut Oil
Blend all ingredients to form a paste to get it to a paste then apply to the scalp. Leave for 30 mins then wash with lukewarm water.
