I have had super complex haircare routines because that’s what I thought I needed at the time but now I am looking for a super simple haircare routine that I can stick with.
I have found that with complex haircare routines, while that may be good sometimes for extra care it may not always be sustainable. Especially if you have a super active on the go lifestyle.
So I have to decided to make my haircare routine easy for not only myself but for anyone out there who would like to follow it.
This routine is simple, easy to follow and what’s great is you can improvise and use whatever products you like or have around.
And if you don’t have these products I can definitely recommend good products that are affordable.

SHAMPOO
A good shampoo is important for good haircare. But you have to be careful not to wash your hair too often. Anywhere from 1-3 times a week depending on your hair is good.
Make sure you also do what is best for your hair, sometimes we see only wash your hair once a week and think we should do that too but this may not be right for your hair.
Test it out and see what works best for you. Also depending on the weather you may need more moisture.
So you can use a moisturizing shampoo. These are a few shampoos that I am using currently and loving:
Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Shampoo – Coconut & Hibiscus
Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Shampoo – Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil
WOW Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo

CONDITIONER
Conditioning your hair is really important. The last thing you want to have is dry hair.
This can lead to damage and dry hair is also extremely hair to brush with out damaging it more.
Conditioning is also great to do every time you shampoo. Since you are removing the oils when you shampoo you want to replenish your hair with moisture.
So if your shampooing once a week then your conditioning once a week, if you doing it twice then condition twice.
Here are some of the conditioners that I am currently using and loving:
Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Conditioner – Coconut and Hibiscus
Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Conditioner – Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil
WOW Organic Virgin Coconut Oil & Avocado Oil Conditioner

DEEP CONDITIONER
Now this only needs to be done once a week and only if you feel like your hair really needs it.
My hair has been very damaged over the years so I definitely need to deep condition once a week or at least once every two weeks.
Now finding the right deep conditioner for your hair can take some time while you test out different ones.
I always think its better to have more than one so you can switch it up when you need to.
Here are some deep conditioners that I am really loving right now:
Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Hair Masque – Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner
LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER
Leave-in conditioner is great for after you wash and conditioner to give your hair some added moisture.
I really like using this because even after I wash and condition my hair still tends to be dry.
This is more if your hair is damaged, which mines is from years of coloring and bleaching. Or if you just have dry hair.
The one I really love and have been using for years is:
Marc Anthony Grow Long Super Fast Strength Leave-In Conditioner
HAIR OIL
So you don’t have to use a hair oil if you don’t really want to. And sometimes if your using a leave-in conditioner you don’t necessarily need both.
But this also depends on your hair and the condition of it. I use both because of how dry my hair is.
Hair oils are great for moisture and also for giving your hair that extra shine.
The one oil that I am really loving right now is:
Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil – click here for a full review of this product.
Other oils that I have tried and really like are:
Bumble And Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil
Alterna Haircare Anti-Frizz Nourishing Oil
FINAL THOUGHTS
These are the things that I have been doing lately, especially to keep my haircare routine simple and easy to follow.
At this time I don’t have as much time to put into a longer or more intense routine right now, so I have to keep it as simple as I can.
I also have not been styling my hair as much so I don’t need the additional products like heat protectants or anything like that.
How is your haircare routine? It is super intense and a lot of steps or is it simple like mines and just a few steps?
Let me know in the comments about your haircare routine and some of the products that your using. I would love to try new products! This is my favorite thing to do.
