What are Clay Masks?
Clay masks have become very popular over the last few years. But what are clay masks and why do we use them? And why are these the top 3 clay masks?
Clay masks are masks that are used when your skin feels clogged. It’s great for pulling out excess oil and all the impurities from your skin.
This makes it great for people who have acne prone skin.
It’s also great when you just feel like your skin is clogged for any skin type. Different weather conditions or traveling to different places can cause our skin to feel congested.

Why I love Clay Masks
The reason I love clay masks because after I finish using it my face feels so much cleaner and refreshed.
I also notice a difference in the look of my skin the day after. I love the way it feels on my skin when I apply it and let it dry.
It starts to tighten the skin; this makes me feel like its actually working.
There are many clay masks that I have tried and liked but these 3 are the ones that I’m loving right now.
The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask
This is one of the first clay masks that I tried and I absolutely loved. Be careful with this one if you have sensitive skin. The Indian Healing Clay Mask is a very powerful mask that really pulls out of the dirt and impurities from your skin.
It really tightens on the skin and turns your skin red when you’re done. This also depends on how long you leave it on your skin if you start to feel like its too much I would wash it off.
I love this aztec clay mask because after I use this, my skin feels extremely clean and I noticed that it helps to minimize my acne.
I use this when I see that I have a few breakouts or I feel like I will be getting some.
This Healing Clay Mask has definitely help my breakouts to go away faster.
This is a simple DIY mask. It comes in powder form and you just have to add a liquid to it and find a consistency that’s best for application.
I use apple cider vinegar but I’ve heard some people use water. Keep in mind the apple cider vinegar has a strong scent.
Erno Laszlo’s Pore Cleansing Clay Mask
The Erno Laszlo Clay Mask is actually one I received in my FabFitFun Winter 2019 box. It comes in a tube and all you really have to do it apply it to your skin and wait until it dries and wash it off.
I really like the easy application of this pore cleansing clay mask and the results. This mask also tightens on the skin when it dries.
It has a lot of the same results and the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask. The difference for me between the two is the scent; the erno laszlo pore cleansing clay mask smells a lot better because there is no apple cider vinegar in it.

It’s also a bit gentler on the skin. You don’t feel it pulling on you skin as much.
But it does work great, my skin is clearer after I use it.
My acne minimized and I like the feel of it tighten on my skin. It’s a bit easier to use and it comes already made you just need to apply it.

Generation Clay Brightening Purple Mask
The generation clay mask, I also received in a previous FabFitFun box (I love being able to try these products because of purchasing the box).
This purple mask is really cool because it starts off purple and dries to a gray color. This also helps you know when to wash it off your skin.
I really like this mask and I think it brings something a little different to the table.
This one isn’t as strong as the other two when it comes to pulling impurities from the skin. Now don’t get me wrong it still does this but it’s gentler on the skin.
This mask helps to brighten the skin, although I think all the other masks do this. This one is more focused on this aspect.
I really like what the generation clay mask does for my skin after I use it. My skin is clearer and smoother.

Which Mask Should You Use?
Now this just depends on what you’re looking for. If you need something to really cleanse your skin and help minimize those breakouts go with the Aztec Healing Clay Mask.
If you want something a little gentler and easier to use go with the Erno Laszlo Pore Cleansing Mask.
And if you want something to brighten, gently cleanse go with the Generation Clay Mask.
final thoughts
I absolutely love all these mask and use them based on what I think my skin needs. In the summer time when my skin gets really clogged I go for the Aztec Healing Clay.
Since its wintertime I either use the Erno Laszlo or the Generation Clay.
But these top 3 clay masks have definitely made a huge difference in my skin.
Let me know in the comments below, if you’ve tried any of these mask and what’s your favorite clay mask?
