Summertime is great for changing up your skincare routine and products, here are 18 essential skincare products that help with summertime skincare.

In the summertime I find that products for moisturizing your skin should be more lightweight and not too greasy.

If you have oily skin that tends to produce a lot of oil in the summer, heavy products will not be ideal for you.

Switching up your skincare routine and trying new products will only help your skin.

I try to keep my skincare simple whether winter, summer, spring or fall. I’ve noticed that this is what works for my skin best.

Here are 18 essential skincare products that are amazing for any skin type but works great for acne prone skin.

There are 18 essential skincare products for the Summertime that are discussed in this post.

Cleanser

Starting your summertime skincare routine with a really good cleanser is always a great way to start.

But this is probably one of the things that doesn’t really change much for me.

In the summertime I need cleansers that will really get all the dirt and oil out of my skin.

There are 4 cleansers right now that I’m loving and would recommend.

These cleansers are amazing for all skintypes but really great for acne prone skin.

Kate Somerville’s EradiKate Daily Cleanser – This is a great cleanser if you have acne prone skin. I tend to break out more in the summertime. This cleans you’re skin well without drying it out.

Biore’s Deep Pore Charcoal Daily Face Wash – This is another great cleanser for acne prone skin. This really deep cleans your skin after a long day. After using this your skin feels really clean.

Kate Somerville’s ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash – This cleanser is great for brightening your skin and helps with dark spots

Biore’s Rose Quartz Charcoal Daily Purifying Cleanser – This is a new facial wash that I’ve been trying out. This feels amazing in the skin and really cleans your skin.

Cleaning is one of the most important part of a skincare routine, you want to make sure you thoroughly clean your face.

Exfoliator

Exfoliating is very important for your skin especially in the summertime.

Sometimes my skin gets extremely oily and even after cleansing I feel like my skin needs something extra

There are 4 exfoliators that have been working really well for me and that I would recommend for anyone.

I have been using these consistently for some time and they are amazing.

Kate Somerville’s ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment – I love this exfoliator its extremely gentle and it’s a chemical & physical exfoliant.

It really helps to remove any excess dirt your skin may have after washing. Use 1-2 times a week.

The Better Skin Co. – Lava Magik – This scrub is amazing; it really scrubs your skin. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and clean.

When I’m breaking out a lot this help to get my skin under control texture wise. Use 1-2 time a week.

Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant (pink grapefruit) – I love any product with grapefruit in it, the scent wakes me up.

This is another gentle exfoliant that scrubs the skin clean and leave your skin feeling very smooth. Use 1-2 times a week.

WEI Ready Glow Exfoliating Mask (brown sugar) – this is a new exfoliator that I’ve recently tired and really like.

This mask is great if you have sensitive skin, but you would like to exfoliate.

It’s really gentle because the sugar that’s in the mask starts to melt from the time you start rubbing it into your face. Use 1-2 times a week.

Mask

Masks are great for a deep clean in the summer.

The mask that I love are for people who break out or really need a deep clean.

If your pore gets really clogged and you feel the oil and dirt build up on your skin masks are a great way to clean them out.

Here are the 5 that are amazing and really work.

Biore Charcoal Instantly Warming Clay Facial Mask For Oily Skin – This is one of the best masks I’ve tried and it’s also one of my favorites.

This mask instantly starts to warm up once you apply it the skin.

After applying the mask, wait a few mins and then remove it.

If you have really sensitive skin you want to be careful with this one, test it on a small area of your skin to see how it reacts to your skin.

Once it’s removed your skin feels so amazingly clean.

Aztec Healing Clay Mask – This is a really great mask that deep cleans your pores and leave your skin feeling cleaner & tighter. I have a blog post that discuss how this mask works here.

Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask – Mud mask & clay masks seem to be the best when coming to acne prone skin. This is another one that does not disappoint.

This mask deep cleans your pore and leave your skin feeling refreshed. Click here for more on this mask.

Erno Laszlo Pore Cleansing Clay Mask – This one is a deep cleaning for the pores as well. When you have acne prone skin and your pores tend to get clogged this is a great mask for you.

Click here for more on this mask

Generation Clay Brightening Purple Mask – This clay mask cleans your pores is a little gentler on your skin. If you have sensitive skin this might be the one you try. Click here to read more about this mask.

These masks are done 1-2 times a week unless your skin needs a little deeper cleaning.

Sheet Mask

Sheet masks are great for after doing a clay or mud mask to add some moisture back into your skin.

These mask are great for moisture and relaxing for a few minutes to clear your mind.

Here are two of the masks that I have been using more often.

Purlisse Charcoal + Licorice Pore Refining Sheet Mask – This mask is made out of fibers and adds moisture to your skin. Click here to read more about this mask.

111Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask – This mask is made of hydrogel. It feels amazing on your skin because of the hydrogel. Click here to read more about this mask

Facial Oil

Facial oils are my go-to all year round but especially in the summer. I usually need something that will moisturize my skin but not be too heavy.

There are 3 facial oils that are amazing for your skin.

There are 2 different brands of the same oil that are really great.

And the other is a different oil that I have recently started using.

Pure Rosehip Seed Oil by Life-Flo – This is very light weight and absorbs into the skin quickly. I have been using this oil for years and love it. It’s also inexpensive.

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil – I have recently started using this oil and it’s another great Rosehip seed oil that is light weight and absorbs into the skin well. This oil is also at a great price point.

HydroPeptide Moisture Reset Phytonutrient Facial Oil – This is one that I recently started using that I received from my Summer 2020 FabFitFun Box.

This is an amazing oil that absorbs into the skin, is light weight and leaves your skin feeling smooth & silky. This oil is a bit more expensive but so worth it.

Final Thoughts

Keeping your skincare as simple as possible in the Summertime is the best thing you can do for your skin.

There are times when your skin needs some extra care and you should listen to your skin.

These are the products and the steps I take to ensure my skin is as healthy as I can get it.

Let me know in the comments below what your essential skincare products for the summertime are, and what products you love.

Disclaimer I purchased all products discussed in this review, and this is my honest opinion.

I’m obsessed with skincare products and trying out new ones. I definitely need to hop on these sheet masks since they are more hydrating than clay masks. I had no idea that they were made with serum (besides other ingredients, ofcourse). This is great to know!

There are some great recommendations here, including a few that I’ve never even heard of before! I just started really experimenting with masks in 2019 – and they have been a go-to form of self care now as we work through the struggles of ‘life’ in 2020. I’ll definitely look into the masks you’ve mentioned here.

I really need to start doing more in the way of skincare. I have never really done much with my face. I rarely wear makeup, almost never use a cleanser, and occasionally use rosehip and moisturizer. I do love the rosehip! I have heard a lot about the Aztec clay stuff so I think I’m going to pull the trigger and finally try that! What do you recommend would be best for toning down red skin? My cheeks are usually red and people are always like.. “why are you blushing” lol. My skin is also pretty sensitive so I haven’t really found a cleanser that works either.

100% Pure Bentonite Clay.

This is an amazing clay mask if you have acne prone skin like me.

If your experiencing a lot of break outs and just need a strong mask to help this is the one. I use this with apple cider vinegar and it really helps you can also use it with water.
