I started my blogging journey in May of 2020, when we were all home from the craziness going on in the world.
I wanted to blog for a long time but never had the time to learn how to. Purchasing my domain in December of 2018 I thought now is the time but I still never started my blog.
But no more I decided I was going to get into the blogging world and I would work really hard to make my blog successful.
So I started learning by researching and joining blogging groups for more information. There was so much to learn and not enough time. I still work my 9-5 job so my time is limited. But I did not let that deter me.

STARTING MY BLOG
So I started my blog in March of 2020 with I theme I chose to create because I didn’t want to spend the money.
I tried and tried to get my blog to look amazing like all the other blogs that I would see online but to no avail.
I finally met someone in the blogging community who helped me out a bit she was also new to blogging but knew so much more than me.
That was when I learned that I could try to get a free theme but I wouldn’t be able to make it look like I wanted, in order to do that I had to purchase a theme.
So I finally did and restarted by blog in May of 2020. I use this as my official blog start date.
My blog finally looked like an official blog and I was ready to go.
AFTER STARTING THE BLOG
This is where your real blogging journey begins and this is where things starts to get a little tricky. And this is where you need to really work!
Anyone can start a blog but promoting the blog and getting people to come to your blog is where a lot of people decide that maybe blogging isn’t for them.
But I joined a few groups that helped with engagement and helped new bloggers like me understand exactly what we needed to do to be successful. And I started learning a lot of things that worked and didn’t.
It took a lot of trial an error but I feel like I may finally be starting to get it. Blogging is constantly changing so you have to keep up with what’s new.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU DO?
So you’ve started a blog and you’re starting to gain some traffic to your blog, what next right?
So if you’re a small time blogger like me I would definitely start joining some influencer networks that can help you work with brands for products or money.
They are so many out there so you would need to find the best one for you. One that I am using right now and really like is Intellifluence.
Another thing that is important is establishing yourself on social media. Your going to want to get accounts on the platforms that you want to use with your blog name. this is really important for branding.
Here are some other must haves for blogging.
my blogging JOURNEY
So how has my blogging journey been? That’s the real question right. The journey has been insane, there have been ups and downs. Also wins and losses. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad because this is the word I chose to be in.
There are times that I may want to quit or to give up but then I remember why I started this in the first place. Why is this important?
This is one piece of advice that I will give you. If you’re thinking about starting a blog it is important that you know you’re why? Because this will keep you going when nothing else does.
MY GROWTH AS A BLOGGER
How have a grown as a blogger? Well I can say there are many ways in which I grew as a blogger that has nothing to do with numbers.
I have learned so much! There are so many things that I didn’t know coming into blogging and that I had to learn from mistakes I made or from people who have showed me how to do things.
Like having patience because things may not happen right away but that doesn’t mean that it will never happen. This is a main thing in blogging because everything takes time to do or to learn.
My numbers also have increased and I feel like even though I am not where I want to be yet, I am slowly getting there and seeing the increase in my analytics.
My page views have gone up, because my Pinterest account is starting to be successful. But this I really had to have patience for because there were time when the numbers were going up or down. And that was really frustrating.
I was accepted into an ad agency to display tasteful ads on my site. I was working with google adsense before and although everyone tells you not to, if your looking to make your blog profitable you have to try somethings out.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Even though my blogging journey may be new to some bloggers who have been in the business for 5+ years, it still been a journey.
And one that I have learned so much from. I have grown and continue to grow everyday.
I am also happy that I chose to keep going on not give up because when you do see those small success it means so much more because you know how hard you worked for it.
It may be great to look at blogging and start with big goals and big dreams of where you want to be, but you also need those small goals that you can accomplish quicker that will help you on those tough days when your ready to throw in the towel.
Overall my blogging experience has been such a great experience for me not only am I starting to see improvements in my analytics but the lessons I’ve learned have been so priceless.
