Elta MD UV Daily Broad Spectrum SPF 46 (Tinted)

What Is Elta MD?

Elta MD UV Daily is a sunscreen from the Elta MD line. I had never heard of this product before visiting an esthetician.

Claims to: calm and protect acne-prone skin UVA/UVB protection (skin types prone to acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation)

I went in to see someone about my skin as my acne was getting worse and there was no signs of relief.

Dealing with acne since my early 20’s, became frustrating and tiring.

I wasted so much money trying new products as nothing seemed to work for me.

How Did I Learn About Elta MD Broad Spectrum SPF?

I finally decided that I needed some help with my skin. I needed to see someone who knew more about skincare for me to try to be acne free.

One of the things the esthetician asked me was do I use sunscreen?

And I know this is really bad but I don’t……. I know, I know it’s bad and I’m trying to work on being better about it.

The esthetician was shocked of course, and demanded to start using SPF right away.

She examined my skin and helped find the best sunscreen for my type of skin.

I decided to buy the product even though it was a bit pricy; it was about $37 a bottle.

Did I use it?

After I bought it I didn’t use it for a while.

I went back to the esthetician to get a hydrafacial (which was amazing).

The last step was sunscreen. When I left the office that day my skin was absolutely glowing.

I know this could have been partly because I had just had a Hydrafacial, so I thought nothing of it.

After that I tried to use it as much as I could remember, but I didn’t do a good job of remembering to put the sunscreen on.

What Happened When I went back??

My second appointment for a facial, was on a Saturday.

I had a little bit more time to get ready and use sunscreen.

I washed my face moisturized my skin and added some sunscreen before I left the house.

Seeing My Esthetician

When I got to the office and saw my esthetician she said that my skin was glowing.

She also said it looked a lot better even though I hadn’t been using the sunscreen consistently.

I was extremely happy when she said this and started to use it more often. I loved the glow that it gave my skin.

It also help me to no touch my face as much, which helped with my acne. I definitely feel like the sunscreen was a protection for my skin.

I noticed it helped my dark spots not get darker.

The application was also not as difficult as some sunscreens that you have to rub and rub for a long time before you can no longer see the residue.

This is why I never liked sunscreen. This one had a bit of a brownish tint which is suppose to match your skin tone.

Tinted

The color doesn’t match your skin tone right away but once you rub it in a little it looks really natural and matches you a lot better.

I really like the fact that I didn’t have to work too hard to apply it and have it look natural with a bit of a glow.

I also noticed that it didn’t irritate my skin or break me out at all. Which is extremely surprising to me.

Not a lot of products irritate my skin but almost everything I try breaks me out.

Final Thoughts:

This product was amazing, it help with my hyperpigmentation (I have some scarring from acne).

It wasn’t as dark as when I started using the product. I loved how easy it was to apply and the fact that it was tinted instead of regular sunscreen.

The best part was it didn’t irritate or break me out! I don’t love the price, but Elta MD Tinted UV Daily Broad Spectrum SPF 46 is a great sunscreen and it does last for a long time. I would buy this product again.
